DUBLIN, Ohio — Dublin City Council on Monday unanimously approved more than $7 million in street maintenance contracts and expanded the city’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area to include Riverside Crossing Park, capping a meeting that also featured a preview of the Memorial Tournament’s 50th anniversary branding.

Council voted 6-0 to accept bids for two phases of the 2026 Street Maintenance Program. The Shelley Company will handle Phase One for $3,464,369.85, and Strawser Paving Company Inc. will perform Phase Two for $3,546,328.85. Work includes concrete replacement, base stabilization and asphalt paving.

In a separate unanimous vote, council expanded the DORA to include sidewalks on Mooney Street and the property at 6620 Mooney Street, and made the Riverside Crossing Park lawn area a permanent part of the district. The action follows a request from property owners in the Block G development.

Council also approved a temporary extension of DORA hours until midnight on June 12 for a Columbus Crew World Cup watch party at Bridge Park. The motion allows alcohol sales until 11:59 p.m. or earlier. Several council members raised concerns about noise and the impact on nearby residents, but the measure passed without dissent.

Heather Diddy, representing the Memorial Tournament, presented the complete branding package for the tournament’s 50th anniversary, scheduled for June 1-7. The package includes decals on the Dublin Link Bridge, oversized golf balls, pin flags and road decals. Installation is set for April 20-24, with tear-down June 8-12. Council received the presentation; no formal vote was required.

“We’re excited to celebrate with you and highlight our partnership that has been just as long,” Diddy told council.

Council adopted on second reading three ordinances authorizing acquisition of properties at 5611, 5689 and 5695 Avery Road for construction of a shared use path, drainage and roadway improvements. All votes were 6-0.

Four ordinances related to the Northern Historic Dublin Infrastructure Improvements Project were introduced on first reading. The measures would acquire easements and fee simple deeds from multiple property owners. A second reading public hearing is scheduled for April 13.

An ordinance to acquire a 0.071-acre easement for a shared use path along Shire Rings Road, funded by a LinkUS grant, also was introduced on first reading.

Council approved an alcohol waiver for the North Market Wine Festival, set for Sept. 18 from 5-10 p.m., and approved temporary signage for the Memorial Tournament.

In other business, council received an update on the West Bridge Street corridor visioning study, which focuses on pedestrian safety, walkability and potential integration with LinkUS bus rapid transit. A walkability presentation is set for April 14, with a work session to follow.

No public comments were made. Council members used the roundtable portion to thank staff for a successful St. Patrick’s Day parade and for cleanup after wind damage the night before, and to discuss noise enforcement in Bridge Park.
